The new OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis, stated that Switzerland intends to use its mediation experience to strengthen dialogue, trust, and security in Europe. Among the key priorities of the Chairmanship are: supporting the Helsinki principles and sustainable peace; promoting inclusive multilateral dialogue; protecting democracy, the rule of law, and human rights; using innovative technologies for a safer future; improving the effectiveness of the OSCE’s work. Throughout the year, four major international conferences and a meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council are planned. Special attention will be given to cybersecurity, combating intolerance, and the role of science and technology in strengthening security.
