Progress Online Invites You to the Premiere of a Documentary on the Amu Darya and an Open Zoom Discussion Progress Online invites everyone interested to attend an online screening of the documentary "Amu Darya: The River That Leads to a Disappeared Sea", which explores one of Central Asia's most pressing environmental challenges—the rapid decline of the Amu Darya River and the devastating consequences of the Aral Sea disaster. The documentary highlights the impacts of climate change, unsustainable water management, environmental degradation, and the future of millions of people whose livelihoods depend on the Amu Darya. Following the screening, an open discussion via Zoom will take place, featuring: the filmmakers; Kate Watters, Regional Environmental Expert and Executive Director of Crude Accountability; Ainabat Yalymova, Director of the Progress Foundation. During the event, participants will also be introduced to a new study analyzing the rapid decline in water flow in the transboundary Amu Darya River.
