On July 24, 2026, the Human Rights Platform of the Civil Movement Dayanç / Turkmenistan held a public action in support of victims of transnational repression. The action marked the first anniversary of the enforced disappearance of Alisher Sakhatov and Abdulla Orusov, who disappeared on July 24, 2025, after leaving the deportation removal center in Edirne, Türkiye. One year has passed, yet their whereabouts remain unknown. Their families have received no reliable information about their fate, and, according to available information, the investigation has been marred by serious procedural violations. The action was held under the slogan "We Want Nothing but Justice." Members of the Democratic Choice of Turkmenistan (DVT) also joined the event, expressing solidarity with the families of the disappeared and with all victims of transnational repression. On the same day, live broadcasts dedicated to the anniversary were held on Numukhammet Annayev's channel. In addition, the Dayanç Human Rights Platform hosted its own live discussion focusing on transnational repression and violence against girls and women in Turkmenistan. During the action, we called on the Turkish authorities to conduct an independent, transparent, and effective investigation, hold all those responsible accountable, release the relevant CCTV footage related to the disappearance of Alisher Sakhatov and Abdulla Orusov, and take all possible measures to establish their whereabouts and secure their return.
