Manifesto: “The System Must Be Changed!” The system must be changed! We must take away from the authorities their diplomatic immunity, endless privileges, and impunity. We must return all instruments of justice to the people — to where fairness truly belongs! Why does the abduction of a person by the authorities take minutes — while their release takes years, and often never happens at all? Why is it possible to fabricate a case, to mock, torture, and humiliate — and never be punished? Why do representatives of the UN and international organizations turn a blind eye, limiting themselves to “recommendations” that have no effect? The world has become a theater where dictators are actors in expensive suits, and the suffering of the people is merely a backdrop for diplomatic smiles. The authorities have everything: money, intelligence services, protection, connections, and limitless power. And civil activists — they only have their voice. A voice that is being silenced, distorted, destroyed. The human rights system is broken. The UN has turned into a body of recommendations, not resolutions. Some of the “old” human rights defenders have become guardians of the status quo — afraid to lose their positions, rather than ready to fight for change. We need new, impartial individuals. We need young, brave, and creative minds. We need a new system — transparent, independent, and of the people. Only fresh ideas and clean hands can return to the world the right to truth, dignity, and a life without fear.
