Today, UN Women Europe & Central Asia, together with the Government of Serbia and Jednakost – Égalité, is holding a regional preparatory consultation ahead of CSW70. The discussion focuses on women’s access to justice across Europe and Central Asia. For many countries, this topic concerns legal reforms and progress achieved. For Turkmenistan, however, access to justice remains a serious and unresolved issue. Despite formal commitments to international conventions, women in Turkmenistan continue to face significant barriers, including the lack of judicial independence, limited effective complaint mechanisms, and fear of retaliation. Registration for the online webinar is still open. Date: 10 February 2026 Time: 10:00 CET Language: English The Human Rights Platform of the Civic Movement “DAYANÇ / Turkmenistan” calls on citizens of Turkmenistan, women’s rights defenders, civil society representatives, and members of the diaspora to register and participate if possible. International platforms are among the few spaces where the voices of Turkmen women can be heard freely. Even attending, listening, or submitting a question contributes to greater visibility and accountability. Access to justice must be a reality, not merely a declaration.
