A Sunday unlike most others!

A Sunday unlike most others!

A Sunday unlike most others! For some people it may be an ordinary Sunday, but for us it is an ordinary day of struggle against dictatorship. A struggle for Alisher Sahatov and Abdulla Orusov, for those who were abducted and taken to Turkmenistan, for those handed over to the hands of the dictatorial authorities, for all citizens of Turkmenistan who every day face pressure, violence, persecution and cruelty. Cruelty and criminal methods — because the authorities in Turkmenistan have no other tools left to cling to power. Every day we look for new ways to resist, while they use the same thing — criminal methods and violence. Let the international community remain silent and cover up their crimes — that will not stop us! We cannot stop when we see our activists and human rights defenders being abducted, tortured and killed. We cannot be silent when we know that women are raped in prisons. We cannot close our eyes when we know that more than a thousand citizens of Turkmenistan are abroad without documents, becoming easy prey for extremist groups and being recruited into a criminal war against Ukraine. We cannot be silent. We will not be silent. We have no right to be silent!
